Pick the first-round winners in NBA Playoffs

Posted on 4/23/2009 Posted by Rob_Gerein

We’re well into the first round of the NBA Playoffs but that doesn’t mean there isn’t time to pick the series winners at betED.com.

The Houston Rockets and the Portland Trail Blazers are tied 1-1 in their best-of-seven Western Conference quarterfinal, with the RocketsĀ at -165 odds to win the seriesĀ and the Trail Blazers a +145 underdog.

The series is heading to Houston for Game 3 Friday night (9:35 pm ET, ESPN), in which the Rockets are 5.5-point home favorites and the over/under is 184.5.

Also Friday night, LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers will try to take a 3-0 stranglehold on their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Detroit Pistons (7 pm ET, ESPN).

Needless to say, the Cavs are huge favorites to win the series, at -7500 while the Pistons are +3000 underdogs to come back and win four of the next five against Cleveland.

The Pistons aren’t getting any respect as the series heads to Detroit, either, as the Cavaliers are 5-point faves and the total is 178.
