Lakers look for 3-0 lead against Jazz

The defending NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers can take a big step forward in defense of their title when they visit Salt Lake City to face the Utah Jazz in Game 3 of their Western Conference semifinal series Saturday (8 pm ET, ABC).

Utah is a -200 moneyline, 4.5-point favorite and the over/under is 202 in NBA Odds for Game 3, the first of series played in Utah.

Los Angeles can take a commanding 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series with a win Saturday.

In Game 2 on Tuesday, Los Angeles beat the Jazz 111-103, cashing as a 5.5-point home favorite. The score went well over the over/under total of 198.5.

Despite a couple of ailments, Kobe Bryant scored 30 points and eight assists and also had three blocks to lead the Lakers. Pau Gasol added 22 points and 15 rebounds for the Lakers, who took a 2-0 lead in this series, with Game 3 slated for Saturday in Salt Lake City.

Los Angeles dominated the rebound battle, 58-40, and Bryant’s three blocks were among 13 recorded by the Lakers, compared to just four for the Jazz.

Los Angeles is 8-2 SU over the past 10 meetings but just 5-5 ATS, and seven of the past 10 have gone under the total.

LA was 57-25 SU and 34-46-2 ATS this season and Utah was 53-29 SU and 49-30-3.
