The Butler Bulldogs will be the unofficial home team when they face the Duke Blue Devils in their first-ever NCAA Tournament championship game on Monday in Indianapolis (9:15 pm ET, CBS).
Duke is a 7-point favorite and the over/under total is at 128.5 in College Basketball Betting at betED.com.
The Bulldogs and Blue Devils haven’t met in seven years, since Duke blew out Butler 80-60 on Jan. 30, 2003.
Butler is certainly the “Cinderella team” of the 2010 tournament. The Bulldogs have won 25 straight and should be buoyed by the fact they are essentially playing at home, as the Butler campus is less than 20 miles from Lucas Oil Stadium, the site of Saturday’s Final Four and Monday’s title game.
Butler beat the Michigan State Spartans 52-50 in the first Final Four tilt Saturday. The Bulldogs covered the 1.5-point spread and the score went under the total of 126.
Duke ranks fourth in NCAA Tournament history with 92 tournament victories and the Blue Devils’ .754 winning percentage (92-30) places them first all-time.
Jon Scheyer led Duke with 23 points in a 78-57 blow out over the West Virginia Mountaineers in the second Final Four matchup Saturday. Duke covered the 2.5-point spread and the score went over the total of 131.5.
Butler is 33-4 SU and 17-20 ATS. Duke is 34-5 SU and 23-14-1 ATS, and has won nine straight.
