The USC Trojans will take on the Hawaii Warriors to kick off the 2010 College Football season on Thursday.
NCAAF Lines at betED.com have the Trojans as a 21.5-point favorite while the over/under total is at 54.
This game should introduce an interesting season for the Trojans. The Trojans have been dealing with illegal actions within the University all summer. They were penalized for their dealings with Reggie Bush. Bush was receiving money from boosters run by the University. This sort of action is completely illegal and gives an unfair advantage to schools like USC as many athletes will be drawn to attend a school where they will receive funds for playing sports.
The Trojans have received stiff penalties for their actions. The National Championship that they won was taken away and they are not bowl eligible. The team is now led by Coach Kiffin. This will be a tough way to start off the regime for Kiffin, but he seems to be up to the job.
This will be a big game for Hawaii as they will have the opportunity to take advantage of a team that has a lot of drama surrounding them. Hawaii struggled through their last season with a 6-7 record. A win against a team like USC to start the season could give them a ton of momentum.
USC is still a talented team and is ranked number 14 in the nation. Look for them to be the favorites in the season opener against the Warriors. They should be a solid team despite the fact that they are not eligible to win the championship this year.
